If this is the first time your student is traveling on the Spring Trip with the Symphonic Band, here are a few answers to questions you might have!   ---Janet Bove

Around March 1st, an "instruction sheet"--just like the ones for the Saturday competitions will come home.  That will answer a lot of questions.  Mr. Albert will discuss it with the students when he hands it out.  Also, at that time, I will be sending home trip packets to students as they finish paying for the trip.  More info and more questions answered.

If you were wondering about meals and any money that your student may need to bring, read on…

Here are the meals as planned:

Friday breakfast: $5 will be given to each student for breakfast at the airport.

Friday lunch: $5 will be given to each student for a fast food lunch.

Friday dinner: Dinner at Traildust Steakhouse

Saturday breakfast: Buffet @ hotel

Saturday lunch: Lunch at Hometown Buffet

Saturday dinner: Meal voucher to be used @ Six Flags

Sunday breakfast:  Buffet @ hotel

Sunday lunch:  $10 will be given to each student to be used for lunch while sightseeing

Sunday dinner: Dinner buffet @ Dave& Buster’s

Monday breakfast: Buffet @ hotel

Monday lunch: Lunch @ Joe T. Garcia’s in Ft. Worth

Monday dinner: $10 will be given to each student to be used at Grapevine Mills Mall for dinner

As far as sightseeing goes, Six Flags admission is included as well as admission to Reunion Tower, & Cowtown Cattlepen Maze in Ft. Worth.  I will give each student $10 to use Sunday morning in Dallas for sightseeing, souvenirs or whatever they wish.  At Dave & Busters, I will buy each student a $10 card for video games.  I've heard it will go fast, so they may want additional money to add on to that but there will be pool table & shuffle board in our private area, so they wouldn't necessarily need extra money.  I figure the $10 for dinner at the mall could also be stretched by visiting the McD's Dollar Menu and then they could have extra cash in their pocket for a movie or something.

In New York last year, I was surprised at the amount of money some students brought.  But my goal is that a student could get by on the trip with just a little pocket change for a souvenir and a few snacks.

Speaking of snacks, I am planning on providing a snack for the group after their performance Friday back at the hotel, but that will be the only one.  The food provided by the planned meals will be plentiful but if your student likes to snack, they may need a little extra money for that.
