UNIFORM
Students will wear their BAND Short Sleeve T-SHIRT and khaki shorts for the day. PLEASE BRING A BELT and TUCK
IN YOUR SHIRT. We want to look professional for our performance. When we are in the park, you may untuck your
shirt. Please make sure you have good walking shoes as we will be on our feet all day in the park.
MUSIC
Intermediate Band: Scholastics March, Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean
Concert Band: Trombone Tiger Rag, How to Train Your Dragon, Among the Clouds
Symphonic Band: Clarinet Escapade, Ride, Star Wars
MONEY
This trip is completely paid for and no money is needed by the students while on the trip. You will be given a $40
all-you-can-eat & drink voucher for Carowinds. A breakfast snack (bagel & fruit) will be provided at LRHS and a light
snack (granola bar) will be distributed at the competition site. If students opts to bring additional spending money
for gifts/souvenirs, Carowinds is completely cashless. If you bring cash, you will have to purchase a debit card at
Carowinds.
FOOD
A bus snack will be distributed when students arrive at school (bagel & fruit). Students will also receive a small
snack (granola bar) when we arrive at the competition site. Each student and chaperone will receive a QR code
voucher to be redeemed at a Carowinds food location for All You Can Eat/Drink every 90 minutes. Once redeemed
for the first time, a bracelet will be given and food and beverages may be “purchased” by showing the bracelet.

MEDICATIONS
Please make sure that you have shared all medical information with Ms. Montgomery that is pertinent to this trip.
If parents would like Ms. Montgomery to carry their child’s medication, they need to note this on the field trip
form. Please communicate with her immediately about any contact information or medical information changes.
DISCIPLINE
Our band has no rules at home, on trips, or any other place we may be EXCEPT those based on COMMON SENSE
and MORAL DECENCY! We EXPECT Respectful Language, Pleasant Manners, Responsible Behavior and Exemplary
Conduct from each of our students! Further, there is ABSOLUTELY no place in our program for SMOKING,
DRINKING, DRUGS, or any OTHER LIKE COMMODITY. You will find a list of rules that our Bands Club has put
together for you and your parents to sign and date. These rules will help ensure that everybody can have a safe and
enjoyable time. Be PLEASANT to everyone around you. Help others and they will help you. Simply resolve to
respect others and you should have no problem.
What Kind of Trip Will We Have?
It will be exactly what kind you want it to be ….. No better and no worse! You can have a terrific time or you could have a bad time, but in the end you will have a great deal to do with it. But whatever kind of trip we have, it will be the kind you make it. As for me, I sincerely hope you want it to be a great trip and I also want everyone to have a terrific time!

6:40AM….. Depart for South Pointe High School, 801 Neely Road, Rock Hill, SC
9:30AM….. Arrive at South Pointe High School
10:05AM….Intermediate band warm-up, Performance at 10:30
10:30AM….Concert band warm-up, Performance at 10:55
10:55AM….Symphonic Band warm-up, Performance at 11:30
11:45AM….Board busses
12:00PM….Depart for Carowinds, 14523 Carowinds Boulevard, Charlotte, NC
12:30PM….Arrive @ Carowinds
5:30PM …..Meet for Awards Ceremony outside Picnic Grove
5:45PM……Awards Ceremony @ Carowinds Picnic Grove
9:45PM……Meet at the “State Line” pole at the Carowinds entrance. Find your Chaperone for Attendance.
10:00PM….Depart Carowinds
12:40AM… Arrive LRHS – Unload Instruments, Folios
