Instructions for the performance of the LRHS Concert Band at the 2023 Music Performance Adjudication (Festival) at Apex High School on Wednesday March 29th, 2023. This is the 25th State Contest for the Concert Band!

UNIFORM:
When you arrive at school, you should have your CONCERT UNIFORM in your new suit bag with your name on it! – Black dress, pearls & black Leesville Character shoes for the girls; tuxedo coat, black pants, black shoes, black socks, bow tie, cummerbund, white shirt for the guys. Please set this aside on TUESDAY night as there is no time for forgetting on WEDNESDAY morning!!!
We will place these bags on racks in the GREEN Room so you will need to be able to quickly and easily identify your suit bag! Be sure to always have ALL the Uniform on…NEVER just part of it!
EQUIPMENT:
We will need a list from the percussion section as to EVERYTHING we will be using. Instruments, Folios, etc., will be placed in the bus after our rehearsal 1st period. Make sure we remove all of our percussion instruments and mutes off stage and back into the trailer after the performance…..also bring extra tuners….. with good batteries……we will need them!
MUSIC:

MONEY:
Please bring $5 to Mrs. Colburn by Monday March 20th so that we can purchase pizzas to have for lunch before we leave for MPA. If you do NOT want pizza and plan to bring your own lunch, please let Ms. Colburn know ASAP. The performance however is FREE and open to the public!!

7:25….. First Period rehearsal begins – run spots as needed
8:00..… Pack up and Load Equipment
8:20… Change into Uniforms
8:50… Count-off/Last minute Announcements
9:05..… Depart for Apex High School
9:50….. Arrive at Apex High School, Registration, Unload
10:15….. Warm up
10:45….. LHS Concert Band Stage Performance
11:20….. Sight-Reading
11:45….. Clinic
PM
12:15….. Load Instruments
12:30….. Depart Fuquay Varina High School
1:05….. Lunch in the Chorus Room
1:45….. Return to 4th Period
NOTES:
It is our tradition at Leesville to take competition as a serious level of performance. To do this, we do not talk once we arrive at the busses to unload at Fuquay Varina High School until we are finished with the clinic. DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS, INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE GIVEN IF NEEDED…..This helps us FOCUS…… Inform your rides NOT TO PARK where the buses need to load and unload! Good Luck! Do everything you can to Look Good, Sound Good and make Common Sense! You have been working very hard and I hope the results will show that!!!!
